BALLER MOVE: Add in Deep Leagues (especially if you are a Doug Martin owner)
ANALYSIS: If you drafted Doug Martin this season and are a knowledgeable fantasy sports player you might already own Bobby Rainey. With Martin being scratched just before game time in week two, Rainey stepped in and ran like a bat out of hell, rushing for 144 yards on 22 carries and adding three catches for 30 yards against a Rams defense that usually plays well against the run. Rainey is nice insurance to have in case Martin’s knee injury develops into something more serious. His big week should come as no surprise since Rainey was very effective when called upon to start six games last season in place of the injured Martin. He rushed for 532 yards on 137 carries with five touchdowns and hauled in 11 receptions for 27 yards and a receiving TD last season. Although there are faster NFL backs than Rainey, what separates him from the pack is his powerful initial quick burst of speed from the line of scrimmage. When you combine that with his above average ability to catch balls out of the backfield and Doug Martin’s recent injury history, he will most likely see a lot of action this season.
