In Sunday night’s Week 6 loss against the New England Patriots, Indianapolis Colts’ wide receiver Donte Moncrief successfully brought in 6-of-11 targets for 69 total receiving yards and a touchdown.
While nothing out-of-this-world, Moncrief’s solid numbers were enough to have him statistically, once again, outplaying standout wide receiver T.Y. Hilton.
As arguably the best highlight of the night, Moncrief made an impressive sideline catch over Patriots’ cornerback Malcolm Butler in the end-zone to give the Colts their first touchdown of the night.
Most remarkably, though Moncrief found himself commanding the constant attention of Butler throughout the game, he was still able to turn in a better performance than Hilton. In fact, through six weeks of play this season, Moncrief has outplayed Hilton in 3-of-6 games.
That said, he’ll still be considered a mid-range WR2 option come Week 7 against the New Orleans Saints.
