Week 11 Tight End Rankings Analysis
No surprises among the top three tight ends this week. I imagine Travis Kelce at TE5 is a bit surprising, but the Seahawks have shown a vulnerability in defending tight ends. I don't know if they will, but Andy Reid should look to exploit that with Kelce. I'm also a little lower on Antonio Gates-- he's awesome, but still a bit too inconsistent for me.
Kyle Rudolph may return this week to the best possible matchup against the Bears. They are dead last in defending against tight ends. Most of that is the result of six TE touchdowns over the past two weeks alone, but Rudolph is definitely capable of adding on to that. If he doesn't play, Chase Ford makes a nice sleeper, as well.
Mychal Rivera continued to impress this past week, even though his touchdown came late in garbage time. The Chargers are a tougher matchup, but he is getting a lot of targets right now, and he'll continue to be a solid stream option. Coby Fleener might be the TE2 on his own team, but there is enough of the pass attack to go around that he has been a borderline fantasy TE1 on the season (ranked 12th at the position). He comes with inconsistency, but in a high-scoring game like this one against the Pats, I like his chances to score.
Finally, what to make of Vernon Davis? He entered the season as a borderline elite option and had two touchdowns in his first game. But since then? 10 receptions for 86 total yards. It's been really bad, and I can't imagine starting him right now. In shallower leagues, you can send him to the waiver wire. In deeper leagues, I'd look elsewhere and try to keep him on the bench until it looks like he can be productive again.
Good luck in Week 11 RotoBallers!
