Week 6 Fantasy Football Rankings: Standard and PPR Leagues

RotoBaller brings you our Week 6 fantasy football rankings and rankings by authors Zach Wilkens (@LopsidedTrades) and Ryan Rufe (@RyanRufe), along with analysis by Ryan Rufe. For even more Week 6 rankings analysis, be sure to check out our positional rankings later today.

Week 6 Fantasy Football Rankings

The NFL season is nearly 30% of the way through ladies and gents. You should be familiar with the routine by now, but just in case you weren't sure, every week fellow RotoBaller Zach Wilkens and I will be posting our weekly fantasy football rankings and rankings analysis, based on team matchups and expected player performances for the week.

Below are RotoBaller's Week 6 fantasy football rankings for all positions including running backs, wide receivers, tight ends, kickers and team defenses. Hopefully our rankings can help guide you in Week 6, and every other week of the NFL season, when setting your fantasy football lineups. Good luck RotoBallers!

Week 6 Quarterback Rankings Analysis

Quarterback is the one position I seem to have a good handle on this season.  After five weeks, I currently rank 4th in accuracy out of 125 experts at the position. Hopefully, I can keep it that way for you RotoBallers who take our rankings into consideration when setting your weekly lineups.

You won't find too many surprises in my Week 6 QB rankings, however.  The only signal caller I'll touch on is Browns quarterback Brian Hoyer, who isn't getting enough attention in the fake game. Maybe it's because the Browns are typically a run-first team on offense... who knows?  I've watched every Browns game this season and he's definitely someone I could confidently start every week in deeper (14+ team) leagues.

Week 6 Running Back Rankings Analysis

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/File:Branden_Oliver_in_preseason.jpgHow about Chargers tailback Branden Oliver?  I didn't expect San Diego to generate 30 rushing yards total against the Jets last week, but Oliver ran for 52 on a single play. His performance overall (182 total yards, 2 TDs) was very impressive and his outlook only gets better this week against the pitiful Raiders' run defense.

Andre Williams should see a full workload against the Eagles with Rashad Jennings (MCL) out and Ronnie Hillman will likely get the most work in Denver's backfield against the Jets. I'm probably much lower on Hillman than others, but I think the Jets' run-defense will rebound and Peyton Manning will just exploit New York's awful secondary. Keep an eye on rookie Juwan Thompson and C.J. Anderson though, it should be an interesting situation to monitor with Montee Ball out.

Week 6 Wide Receiver Rankings Analysis

T.Y. Hilton is someone I thought might take a step back this season with the additions of Hakeem Nicks via free agency, Donte Moncrief via the draft and Reggie Wayne back from injury. All he's done this season, however, is draw double-digit targets in four out of five games and has been very consistent in the catch and yardage department.

Hilton went off against the Texans in Houston last season to the tune of 7 catches for 121 yards and three scores. I'd bank on him having another big night this week on Thursday Night Football. For what it's worth, Hilton is someone I'm targeting in all my leagues via trade.

Week 6 Tight End Rankings Analysis

With Jimmy Graham and Travis Kelce both on bye this week, Julius Thomas and Rob Gronkowski are the clear top dogs at the tight end position, with Delanie Walker, Antonio Gates and Jordan Cameron rounding out my top 5.

Cameron, in particular, has been frustrating to own thus far, but a shoulder injury limited him in camp and early in the season. Now that the Browns are past their bye and it's had time to heal, he should round into form. Don't drop him or sell low on him via trade. You're better off keeping him and reaping the rewards when Brian Hoyer does look his way in the red zone.
