3 years agoSan Francisco Giants pitcher Camilo Doval allowed one hit and one walk while striking out two across a scoreless inning to earn the save in Wednesday's 2-1 win over the San Diego Padres. He entered the ninth inning to protect a 2-1 lead. The 24-year-old loaded the bases with two outs but struck out Matt Beaty to end the game. He has now received two of San Francisco's three save chances this season and is in the mix to be the team's primary closer with Jake McGee and Dominic Leone. Doval is 1-for-2 in save chances with a 6.23 ERA, 1.62 WHIP, and four strikeouts over four 1/3 innings in 2022.--Brad Camara - RotoBaller
