3 years agoTexas Rangers catcher/designated hitter Mitch Garver (elbow) was sent out on a rehab assignment at Double-A Frisco on Tuesday. He will be exclusively serving as designated hitter during his rehab assignment and he will have that same role when he returns to the Rangers. Garver is dealing with a right elbow injury and he still isn't throwing the ball, so he can't play either catcher or first base for now. It's still unclear at this point exactly when he'll be back with the Rangers, but it sounds as if his return is close. The 31-year-old is slashing .205/.292/.346 with three home runs, eight RBI and seven runs over 22 games on the year.--Andrew Ericksen - RotoBaller
