Ji-Man Choi Heads To The Bench Wednesday
2 years agoTampa Bay Rays first baseman Ji-Man Choi is not in the starting lineup on Wednesday against the Milwaukee Brewers. Choi has been in a bit of a slump at the plate recently, so he'll take a seat against a right-handed pitcher in Brandon Woodruff. He's gone 7-for-53 (.132) with a homer, five RBI and 17 strikeouts in 15 games since the All-Star break to drop his season line to .249/.351/.398 with eight home runs, 46 RBI and 28 runs scored in 316 plate appearances. Isaac Paredes is starting at first base on Wednesday and is hitting cleanup against Woodruff. Paredes is a real power threat with 14 home runs in just 213 at-bats, but he's also hitting just .221 on the year with a .294 on-base percentage. He's 8-for-39 (.205) with no homers and two RBI in 11 games over the last two weeks.
