Yordan Alvarez Sitting Against Lefty
2 years agoHouston Astros outfielder/designated hitter Yordan Alvarez is not in the starting lineup on Thursday against left-hander Cole Ragans and the Texas Rangers. Alvarez remains a must-start when he's on the field, but he's gotten off to a rough start in August, hitting .156 (5-for-32) with a homer, four RBI and 10 strikeouts in nine games played. Overall, he's still hitting a strong .295/.401/.633 with a 1.033 OPS, 31 home runs, 74 RBI, 70 runs scored and one stolen base in 397 plate appearances. Trey Mancini will be the designated hitter and bat sixth against Ragans on Thursday. Mancini is 5-for-19 (.263) with three homers and seven RBI in his first seven games since being traded from the Baltimore Orioles at the Aug. 2 deadline.
