Mike Trout Takes Live Batting Practice Monday
2 years agoLos Angeles Angels outfielder Mike Trout (back, ribs) took live batting practice on Monday, which means he hit against an actual pitcher throwing at game speed. It's the last step necessary before playing in games, but it's unknown if he'll actually go on a minor league rehab assignment. Whether Trout plays in minor league games first will be up to him, according to skipper Phil Nevin. The 31-year-old is getting very close to rejoining the Halos lineup, which should have fantasy managers ecstatic. The 10-time All-Star was hitting .270/.368/.599 with a .967 OPS, 24 home runs, 51 RBI, 55 runs scored and a stolen base in 79 games before his injury, and he'll remain a must-start in fantasy lineups once he returns to the Angels.
