2 years agoThe Tampa Bay Rays are calling up right-hander Luis Patino from Triple-A Durham on Thursday in order to start against the Kansas City Royals. This will be Patino's fourth start for the Rays this year, with his last coming on July 23. He hasn't been particularly effective in the majors in just eight innings pitched this year, allowing six earned runs on 12 hits (two home runs allowed) while striking out three and walking four. Patino has been sidelined for most of the year with an oblique strain. The matchup against Kansas City is nice, but Patino will be an extremely risky fantasy baseball streamer in his return to the Rays starting rotation. There's a chance the 22-year-old is sent right back to Durham after this start.--Keith Hernandez - RotoBaller
