2 years agoThe Chicago White Sox are a likely landing spot for free-agent shortstop Elvis Andrus, who was released by the Oakland Athletics on Wednesday. The two sides are in talks, but nothing is official yet. With Tim Anderson (finger) out for at least five weeks after having surgery on the middle finger of his left hand, the White Sox could use some shortstop depth down the stretch. The 33-year-old Andrus would be just a temporary stopgap, as he was hitting just .237/.301/.373 with eight home runs, 30 RBI, 41 runs scored and seven stolen bases in his 354 at-bats with the A's before his release. The White Sox have been using Romy Gonzalez and Lenyn Sosa at shortstop since Anderson landed on the injured list.--Keith Hernandez - RotoBaller
