Giancarlo Stanton Goes Hitless In First Rehab Game
2 years agoNew York Yankees outfielder Giancarlo Stanton (Achilles) went 0-for-3 with two strikeouts while serving as the designated hitter and batting second on Saturday in his first minor league rehab game with Double-A Somerset. Stanton has been on the injured list since July 23, but as long as he doesn't suffer a setback on his rehab assignment, he's expected to rejoin the Yankees lineup at some point next week. The 32-year-old slugger could return for the start of a series against the Oakland Athletics next Thursday. Stanton is hitting just .228 on the season, but he also has 24 home runs, 61 RBI and 40 runs scored in 289 at-bats, making him a must-start in fantasy for his power.
