Byron Buxton Receiving A Breather
2 years agoMinnesota Twins outfielder Byron Buxton is not in the starting lineup on Sunday for the series finale against the Texas Rangers. It appears to be a normal day of rest for Buxton. The 28-year-old went 0-for-4 with two strikeouts and a walk in Saturday's 4-3 loss to the Rangers, and he's hitting .234 (11-for-47) with two home runs, five RBI, six runs scored and two stolen bases in 13 games this month. Buxton is hitting only .222 this year, but he also has 28 homers, 51 RBI, 61 runs scored and five stolen bases in 338 at-bats, making him a must-start when he's on the field. Nick Gordon is taking over in center field on Sunday and will hit sixth against Rangers right-hander Kohei Arihara. Gordon won't be a bad DFS play Sunday. He's hitting .276/.320/.421 on the year with five homers, 23 RBI, 30 runs and six stolen bases in 261 at-bats.
