Geno Smith Returns To Practice
2 years agoSeattle Seahawks quarterback Geno Smith (knee) split repetitions with the first-team offense at training camp practice on Sunday. Drew Lock was set to start the second preseason game last Thursday against the Chicago Bears before he tested positive for COVID-19, but with Lock also returning to practice on Sunday, it's unclear what the plan at QB will be this week for the preseason finale against the Dallas Cowboys. Smith suffered a minor bruised knee last Thursday against the Bears, but he should be just fine. Head coach Pete Carroll isn't in a rush to name the starting QB heading into Week 1 against the Denver Broncos, but it's expected to be Smith. Lock figures to play a lot against Dallas, and if he performs well and Smith continues to struggle, Lock could win the job.
