2 years agoThe Milwaukee Brewers placed left-hander Aaron Ashby (shoulder) on the 15-day injured list on Monday with left shoulder inflammation and recalled left-hander Jason Alexander from Triple-A Nashville in a corresponding move. Ashby's injured list stint is retroactive to Aug. 20. The 24-year-old southpaw's shoulder was probably bothering him in his last start on Friday against the Chicago Cubs, when he surrendered six runs on eight hits in just five innings of work. He is 2-10 on the year with a 4.58 ERA (4.07 FIP), 1.43 WHIP, 116 strikeouts and 43 walks in 96 1/3 innings over 23 outings (17 starts) in his second big-league season. Ashby is relevant in mixed fantasy leagues because of his strikeout upside, but walks continue to be an issue for the young lefty. Alexander could replace Ashby in Milwaukee's starting rotation.--Keith Hernandez - RotoBaller
