2 years agoThe St. Louis Cardinals activated catcher Yadier Molina from the restricted list on Monday and optioned catcher Ivan Herrera to Triple-A Memphis in a corresponding move. The Cardinals also removed right-hander Ryan Helsley from the paternity list and placed him on the restricted list. Molina has been away from the team handling personal matters in Puerto Rico since Saturday, but he'll be available to begin the week and has returned to catching duties while batting eighth against Chicago Cubs left-hander Drew Smyly on Monday. The 40-year-old future Hall of Famer is limping to the finish line of an amazing career with St. Louis, as he's hitting just .222/.243/.283 with two home runs, 12 RBI, 12 runs scored and a stolen base in his 180 at-bats in 2022.--Keith Hernandez - RotoBaller
