2 years agoThe Chicago White Sox placed right-hander Michael Kopech (knee) on the 15-day injured list with a left knee strain on Tuesday and recalled left-hander Tanner Banks from Triple-A Charlotte in a corresponding move. Kopech was removed from his start early on Monday against the Kansas City Royals, and he won't be eligible to return until Sept. 7 at the earliest. Even if the 26-year-old returns when he's eligible, there won't be much time left for him to make much of an impact for his fantasy managers. In 23 starts in 2022, Kopech has gone 4-9 with a 3.58 ERA (4.44 FIP), a 1.21 WHIP and a 98:55 K:BB in 110 2/3 innings pitched. It remains to be seen who will replace him in Chicago's starting rotation.--Keith Hernandez - RotoBaller
