D'Andre Swift Is Detroit's Best Playmaker
2 years agoDetroit Lions third-year running back D'Andre Swift showed up to training camp in great shape and is focused on having the breakout season that the team thinks he can have in this offense. The Lions will continue to rotate Swift with veteran Jamaal Williams, but Swift remains the team's best playmaker. He'll get his share of red-zone opportunities both as a ball-carrier and a pass-catcher. The 23-year-old has played in 13 games in each of his first two seasons in the NFL, and he had 151 carries for 617 yards and five touchdowns in 2021, adding 62 catches on 78 targets for 452 yards and two more scores. Quarterback Jared Goff has an improved pass-catching corps with the addition of DJ Chark, but Swift will continue to have RB1 upside if he can stay healthy.
