2 years agoHouston Texans rookie running back Dameon Pierce is likely to be the team's lead back in Week 1 against the Indianapolis Colts. Pierce started the preseason finale on Thursday in the win over the San Francisco 49ers and carried the ball six times for 37 yards and a touchdown. Marlon Mack looks healthy again and had a solid preseason, but he was coming into games after Pierce had already exited, signaling that he's not the team's preferred choice. Veteran Rex Burkhead will likely take away work on passing downs, but Pierce's fantasy stock continues to rise with the regular season quickly approaching. Still, Houston's offense may once again struggle for scoring opportunities, so Pierce should be considered an RB3/flex with upside, at best.--Keith Hernandez - RotoBaller
