2 years agoHouston Texans head coach Lovie Smith has declined to say whether rookie running back Dameon Pierce will be the starter right away in Week 1 of the regular season against the Indianapolis Colts. However, Smith has said Pierce has done a great job throughout training camp and the preseason. Even though veteran Marlon Mack appears to be fully healthy heading into the 2022 campaign, Pierce has been the most explosive back this summer and also offers fantasy managers the most upside, albeit in an offense that probably won't put up a ton of points. Pierce will surely be spelled along the way by Mack and Rex Burkhead, but he's the Texans most attractive fantasy back as an RB3/flex.--Keith Hernandez - RotoBaller
