Dolphins Release Sony Michel
2 years agoThe Miami Dolphins released running back Sony Michel on Monday. Michel didn't impress the coaching staff enough in training camp and the preseason to make the cut in a crowded backfield that also includes Chase Edmonds, Raheem Mostert, Myles Gaskin and Salvon Ahmed. The 27-year-old former first-round pick by the New England Patriots in 2018 filled in nicely for the Rams in 2021 due to injuries to Cam Akers and Darrell Henderson Jr. In 17 regular season games (seven starts), Michel had 208 carries for 845 yards and four touchdowns, adding 21 catches for 128 yards and another score. He doesn't have much pass-catching chops, but Michel could easily latch on with another organization as RB depth before the start of the regular season. For now, he's off the fantasy radar in redraft leagues.
