BALLER MOVE: Target in Late Rounds
Current ADP: 220 STD
ANALYSIS: The Vikings have an easy schedule in terms of opposing running games, but do face some tough passing attacks. As a result, there are a couple of weeks where you might want to stream another defense, but they do have the potential to be a top 10 D/ST.
Defensive tackle Sharrif Floyd was the Vikings’ best run defender, and defensive end Everson Griffin was relentless in the pass rush, but both did well in both aspects. Linval Joseph and Brian Robison have shown the ability to create pressure, as well.
As for the linebackers, Anthony Barr was very solid in his rookie season, and Eric Kendricks is expected to start after being selected in the second round of this year’s draft.
Continuing through the defense, cornerback Xavier Rhodes showed tremendous growth in pass coverage, and safety Harrison Smith finished as one of the top safeties in the league in 2014. Rookie Trae Waynes will likely get the other CB spot, but the Vikings have depth at the position with veterans Terence Newman and Captain Munnerlyn.
Minnesota has added a lot of talent in pass coverage during the offseason to go along with a solid front seven. Throw in a talented corps of return men, and this unit could be a good value pick on draft day.
