Roy Helu Unseating Latavius Murray?

Oakland Raiders running back Latavius Murray seemed to have been benched by the team in the fourth quarter against the Chicago Bears on Sunday after losing a costly fumble. It just wasn't Murray's day; in addition to the fumble, he was also struggling in the passing game. Former Washington Redskins running back Roy Helu finished the game for Murray.

Coming into the season many people expected Helu to see more playing time than he has thus far this season, but injuries are believed to be the reason why his snaps have been limited. Now that he's seemingly healthy, he will likely cut into Murray's reps. However, we have no reason to believe that Murray won't resume his role as the team's starting back.

Murray has actually been having a great season for the Raiders despite his struggles against the Bears. He is currently on pace for 272 carries for 1,188 yards and eight touchdowns out o the backfield. He's also been a threat in the passing game for Derek Carr. Murray is currently on pace for 56 receptions for 320 yards. But Helu is undoubtedly the better receiver of the two backs, so it's highly likely that Murray will begin to be subbed out in passing situations.

What does this all mean?

Don't hesitate to start Murray against the Denver Broncos. As for Helu, he's definitely worth a waiver wire pickup - especially in PPR leagues.
