The Arizona Cardinals and head coach Bruce Arians fully expect running back Andre Ellington to return to action for the team's week 5 contest against the Detroit Lions on Sunday. Ellington has missed the last three weeks with a sprained PCL.
Arians claims Ellington could played in week 4 against the St. Louis Rams, but the team decided to be cautious and gave him one extra week to heal.
At this time last week it sounded like Ellington was going to play too, but Arians surprised fantasy owners when he decided to sit Ellington after most people already had their lineups set. If we learned anything from last week, it's never to trust Arians when he says a player will or will not play.
If Ellington does get the green light, he is a RB3 at best. Chris Johnson will likely continue to receive the bulk of the carries, at least until Ellington proves he's back at 100 percent. If you own Johnson, use him as a RB2 in week 5.
