When the Baltimore Ravens acquired wide receiver Chris Givens from the St. Louis Rams, nobody was happier than Givens himself. Throughout his previous three seasons in the NFL, he has flashed signs of greatness, but this year he found himself at the bottom of a stacked receiver depth chart with the Rams. But the Ravens and quarterback Joe Flacco have a very thing receiving corps and are expected to use Givens a lot.
Givens says he has watched Flacco for years and he believes their skill-sets will mesh perfectly.
“I love Joe,” Givens said, according to CSN Baltimore. “I’ve watched Joe for years, he has a strong arm, and I feel like our talents match up and we can complement each other pretty well.”
I don't want to jump the gun, but Givens has an opportunity to instantly become a WR2 in the Ravens offense. Other than Steve Smith Sr., Flacco has nobody to throw the ball to - especially deep downfield. Givens is a receiver who is more than capable of stretching the field and Flacco still has one of the strongest arms in all of football. If Flacco and Givens can get on the same page, the Ravens offense may start looking a heck of a lot better.
