In order to be a great quarterback in the NFL, you have to have all of the obvious skills: a strong arm, an accurate arm, able to read defenses, etc. One skill that usually goes unmentioned is having a short-term memory. Even the greatest quarterbacks in NFL history made mistakes and threw the occasional interception, but they were able to always forget about it and move on. It sounds like San Francisco 49ers QB Colin Kaepernick is having some difficulty with that.
"I put our team in a bad situation in the Arizona game. I wasn’t going to allow that to happen again," Kaepernick said, according to the San Francisco Chronicle. "It cost us (Sunday), but that’s something I’ll correct moving forward."
Kaepernick has had a horrible season thus far. Nobody would blame you if you have already given up on him and released him from your fantasy football rosters. Even though he has an easy matchup against the New York Giants in Week 5, I wouldn't risk starting him. He's making too many mistakes and he's not only struggling to throw the football - he's struggling to run it as well. You'd be better off starting Nick Foles (vs. Packers) or Blake Bortles (vs. Bucs) this week.
