Eddie Lacy Is Banged Up, Likely in a Timeshare Going Forward

Eddie Lacy did not make his fantasy football owners very happy during his Week 6 matchup against the San Diego Chargers. The first-round fantasy football draft pick only saw four carries out of the backfield for three yards while James Starks had 10 carries for 112 yards and a touchdown.

After the game Packers head coach Mike McCarthy said Lacy is banged up, but also admitted that his two backs will likely split carries going forward.

"We're a one-two punch team," McCarthy said, according to the Milwaukee Journal-Sentinel. "It's really no different than the way we operate. We went with James first just because he's been playing extremely well, and Eddie has been a little banged up."

For some reason the Packers have always seemed to favor Starks and I think it has to do with work ethic. Lacy has never slimmed down and doesn't seem to take his conditioning very serious. He's a much better runner out of the backfield than Starks, but that doesn't matter if he gets exhausted after just a couple carries.

Lacy should be considered a RB2 when the Packers return to the football field in Week 8 following their bye. But Lacy's fantasy owners should do everything they can to pickup Starks as a handcuff.
