The Tampa Bay buccaneers will be without wide receiver Louis Murphy for the rest of the season. He suffered a torn ACL in the team’s Week 7 game against the Washington Redskins.
Murphy had 10 receptions for 198 yards before the injury. He was not on the fantasy football radar in redraft leagues and dynasty owners can go ahead and drop him too. He will be 29 before the 2016 season starts and he’ll likely be looking for a new team as well.
If he makes a fully recovery, he might be able to make a team as a backup/slot receiver – but he’ll have no impact for fantasy owners unless he lands on a team with a quarterback like Tom Brady, Peyton Manning or Aaron Rodgers.
In more positive news, former Seattle Seahawks second round draft pick Paul Richardson has resumed practicing after tearing his ACL last season. The team now has 21 days to activate him off the PUP. He had 29 receptions as a rookie.
Richardson has no value in redraft leagues, but dynasty owners who have an empty roster spot may want to keep an eye on him. The Seahawks could eventually have a nice receiver duo with Richardson and 2015 third round pick Tyler Lockett.
Packers fans will also be happy to hear that coach Mike McCarthy fully expects to have Davante Adams back in the lineup for Week 8 against the Denver Broncos. Adams has been out since Week 4 with an ankle injury.
Adams should be owned in all fantasy football leagues. He will likely play behind Randall Cobb and James Jones, but can be considered a WR4 in Week 8 with a chance to become a high-end WR3 down the line.
Finally, the Tennessee Titans have been trying to get rookie Dorial Green-Beckham more involved in the game plan, but the team is being patient with him while he learns the playbook.
. "(There are) things he does really well, but the more things you put on his plate, the harder it is for him to play fast," coach Ken Whisenhunt said, according to Titans Online.
Green-Beckham has just six catches thus far this season, but two of those catches were for touchdowns. He has a total of 92 yards.
The rookie is a super talented receiver who will cause opposing defenses a ton of fits once he learns the playbook. He doesn’t have much value in redraft leagues, but hold onto him in keeper and dynasty leagues. He is a potential WR1 in a year or two.
