ANALYSIS: Welcome back, Tyrod Taylor. The fantasy football world certainly missed you. Taylor, the Buffalo Bills' dynamic first-year starter, started for the first time in nearly a month this past Sunday, and the impact was immediately evident.
Taylor finished with 181 passing yards (on a highly-efficient 11-for-12 passing) and a touchdown, and added an additional 44 rushing yards in a 33-17 home win over the Miami Dolphins. It wasn't Taylor's most dominant fantasy day, but that can be chalked up to the Bills' rushing dominance. Buffalo gouged the sieve-like Dolphins' defense for 266 yards and three touchdowns on the ground. Taylor owners should be encouraged by the Bills' offensive dominance.
They should also be encouraged by the return of wide receiver Sammy Watkins, who caught eight of Taylor's 11 completions for 168 of his 181 passing yards. Watkins (ankle) was limited in Tuesday's practice, but is expected to play Thursday night against the New York Jets. And before you say, "Uh oh, Revis Island" and overthink this, look at what the Jets have surrendered over their last three games -- an average of 356.3 passing yards, compared to 77.3 rushing yards. New York's strength is defending the run, but they can passed on. Taylor and the Bills will be able to move the ball, and his scrambling ability (38.5 rushing yards per game) gives him a higher floor than most quarterbacks.
