ANALYSIS: Marcus Thornton is blasting off in Houston! The veteran shooting guard is averaging 16.6 points a game and has been a nice boost for the Rockets' offense. Terrence Jones' injury has opened the door for Thornton and it looks like he could stick in the starting five. This is bad news for Jones' fantasy owners but great news for those in need of three-pointers, points, and steals.

Kevin McHale has been very impressed with Thornton's level of play, particularly his on-ball defense. Thornton is also connecting on shots at a strong 45.3% shooting, which is pretty high for him. The system in Houston is clearly catering to Thornton's strengths and bringing out the best in him. Even if you just plan to add him as a sell-high player, there is no reason for Thornton to be available in over 50% of leagues.
