Calm Your Expectations for Jonathan Stewart, Jeremy Langford and Chris Johnson?

Week 10 features some pretty favorable running back matchups, but that is not the case with these three guys.

Jonathan Stewart has rejuvenated his season after three-straight quality outings, but he stumbled a bit against the Green Bay Packers in Week 9. After totaling 45 fantasy points in Weeks 6-8, Stewart only finished with 6.8 points against Green Bay and failed to reach the end zone despite the Panthers scoring nearly 40 points.

He’s slowly become non-existent as far as the Panthers’ passing game is concerned, which means his value is based solely on his running abilities. Stewart barely averaged 3 yards per carry against Green Bay, and now he’ll face a Tennessee Titans defense that ranks 6th to opposing running backs this year, according to ESPN.

Jeremy Langford went bananas against the Chargers on Monday Night Football, but he’ll be in for a brutal matchup this week against the stingy St. Louis defense. Langford finished with 72 yards on 18 carries and was equally impressive in the passing game against San Diego. He finished with 22 fantasy points against the Chargers, but I’m fairly certain I could put up similar numbers against that abysmal Chargers defense.

The Rams play an old-school style of football that revolves around running the football and playing hard-nose defense. St. Louis is allowing 3.8 yards per carry and has only given up five rushing touchdowns all year. Langford has filled in nicely while Matt Forte nurses a knee injury, but he’ll surely be limited against the Rams’ athletic defensive front.

Chris Johnson has been pretty much unstoppable this season, but don’t expect that to continue on the road against a Seattle Seahawks defense fresh off of a bye. Johnson has eclipsed the 100-yard mark in half of his games this year and has rejuvenated his career in Arizona.

Unfortunately, he caught a case of the fumbles against the Cleveland Browns in Week 8, and now he’ll face a Seahawks defense that has allowed the fewest fantasy points to opposing running backs this season, according to ESPN. Johnson has had his share of great games this year, but he’s also had a few duds as well. With a lack of consistency and a brutal primetime matchup, it’s best not to expect much from CJ2K.
