Teddy Bridgewater a Worthy Addition as QB2

ANALYSIS: If you're relying on Teddy Bridgewater as a starter at this point in the season, you're probably in the midst of a tough season. He's just not consistent or productive enough to be a reliable starter at this point in his second season with the Minnesota Vikings. But that doesn't mean he hasn't had his moments, and it doesn't mean he isn't worth owning as a QB2.

Bridgewater passed for 296 yards and a touchdown and added 43 rushing yards in a 30-13 loss to the Green Bay Packers on Sunday. He snapped a streak of three straight games with less than 190 yards passing as the trailing Vikings were forced to throw more than usual. Minnesota hasn't needed gaudy numbers from Bridgewater to win seven of its first 10 games this season, but he has proven himself capable of airing it out at times.

What's perhaps more noteworthy is his recent uptick in rushing yards. After rushing for 55 total yards over his first six games, Bridgewater has piled up 104 yards on the ground over the last four, including a career-high 43 against the Packers. If Bridgewater continues finding extra yards on the ground, that will help offset his relatively passing totals. And with tough games against NFC playoff contenders Atlanta, Seattle and Arizona over the next three weeks, the Vikings will need Bridgewater at his best.
