Joseph Randle Arrested, Case Keenum Expected to Start and Matt Forte Is Good to Go

Former Dallas Cowboys running back and current free agent Joseph Randle was arrested at a Kansas casino on Tuesday night. According to a TMZ report, Randle was told to leave the casino because he was clearly drunk. While he was leaving he spit on the floor and reportedly “went berserk” on police escorting him out.

Randle is already facing multiple charges, including felony criminal threats and misdemeanor assault of a law enforcement officer, battery and disorderly conduct.

Due to his history of legal troubles, it will be a surprise if he ever gets signed by another NFL team. He is currently in custody on $25,000 bail.

It’s a shame that Randle can’t seem to get his head screwed on straight. When he was the starting running back for the Cowboys earlier this season he actually played fairly well with 313 yards on 76 carries for an average of 4.1 yards per carry and four touchdowns. He also had 10 receptions for 87 yards.

In other running back news, the Chicago Bears are expected to have Matt Forte back in action on Thursday against the Green Bay Packers. He has missed the past three weeks with a sprained MCL.

"I probably could have played last Sunday, but I might not have been able to play coming up this week if something would have happened," Forte admitted to ESPN.

Thanksgiving football games always draw huge ratings for the NFL, so it’s no wonder why Forte didn’t want to miss tomorrow’s game. Forte should be considered a RB1 against the Packers.

Jeremy Langford will likely still see some carries, but he is not worth starting. However, do not release him from your roster. He’s worth holding onto for now incase Forte suffers any sort of setback.

Currently Forte ranks sixth in the NFL in rushing yards per game. Through seven games he has 548 yards on 136 carries for an average of four yards per carry and two touchdowns on the ground. He also has 25 receptions for 219 yards and one touchdown through the air.

The St. Louis Rams will reportedly go with Case Keenum at quarterback again this week if he’s cleared from the league’s concussion protocol. The team continues to believe that Keenum gives them a better chance to win than Nick Foles, who they traded for in the offseason.

There’s no way Keenum is the long-term answer at quarterback in St. Louis. I expect the team to go back to Foles at some point this year.
