Sam Bradford Questionable, Devonta Freeman Not Yet Cleared and Frank Gore Misses Practice

Philadelphia Eagles quarterback Sam Bradford is listed as questionable for Thursday’s Week 12 game against the Detroit Lions. Considering Bradford was listed as a full participant in practice on Wednesday, it would seem as if he will play on Thanksgiving. However, you never know with coach Chip Kelly.

Despite having a good matchup this week, I would be hesitant to start Bradford. He has struggled this season completing only 214 of his 335 passing attempts for 2297 yards including 11 touchdowns and 10 interceptions.

More alarming than his stats are the fact that the Eagles are only 4-6 in a horrible NFC East division.

Here is some fantasy news which is sure to cause some owners to panic. This year’s biggest breakout star, Devonta Freeman, is still not practicing after suffering a concussion last week. If he gets the green light, he will certainly suit up against the Minnesota Vikings. If he plays, he should be considered a RB1.

But Freeman’s owners must pay close attention to Freeman’s status as kickoff approaches. If Freeman can’t go, rookie Tevin Coleman will get the start. When the season first began, the team seemed to favor Coleman over Freeman. If Coleman were to have a breakout game, Freeman may find himself in a RBBC situation once he returns.

Through 10 games Freeman has 764 yards on 167 carries for an average of 4.6 yards per carry and nine touchdowns. He has also been phenomenal in passing situations with 48 receptions for 420 yards and another two touchdowns.

Meanwhile, Coleman has 231 yards on 59 carries and one touchdown.

One could argue that Freeman is a more valuable member of the Falcons offense than franchise quarterback Matt Ryan.

In other running back news, Indianapolis Colts’ Frank Gore was not practicing on Wednesday. The veteran is reportedly dealing with a knee and quad injury, and he was spotted limping after last week’s game.

However, we have no reason to believe that Gore won’t suit up in Week 12 against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Gore is 32-years-old and doesn’t need to practice every single day. The team is likely just giving him some extra time off to heal.

Against the Bucs I would consider Gore a RB2.

Through 10 games this season he has 633 rushing yards on 162 carries for an average of 3.9 yards per carry and four touchdowns. He has an additional 181 yards on 25 receptions.
