Charcandrick West Not Practicing, Ryan Mathews Ruled Out and Jordan Reed Good to Go

If you own Kansas City Chiefs running back Charcandrick West in any fantasy football leagues, you will not be happy to hear that he was not practicing on Wednesday. West is dealing with a hamstring injury and it sounds like it is unlikely that he’ll suit up on Sunday.

If West doesn’t play, Knile Davis and Spencer Ware will likely share carries against the Buffalo Bills. Since the Chiefs have such a touch matchup, I wouldn’t consider starting Davis or Ware as anything but RB4s. If West plays, I would go ahead and slot him in as a RB3.

West has 373 yards on 98 carries thus far this season for an average of 3.8 yards per carry. He has three touchdowns on the ground and one in the receiving game. He also has 14 receptions for an additional 199 yards.

In other running back news, Ryan Mathews has already been ruled out for the Philadelphia Eagles’ Thanksgiving game against the Detroit Lions. That’s a big blow for the Eagles, especially considering there is an argument to be made that Mathews is the best back on their roster.

Through nine games Mathews has 427 rushing yards on 75 carries for an average of 5.7 yards per carry, including five touchdowns. He also has 14 receptions for an additional 119 yards and another touchdown through the air.

With Mathews out, DeMarco Murray should see the bulk of the carries with Darren Sproles seeing more playing time as well.

Murray can be considered a RB2 against the Lions. He has 515 yards on 141 carries and four touchdowns on the ground. He also has 39 receptions for 295 yards and another touchdown in the receiving game.

As for Sproles, I’d consider him a RB4 in PPR leagues at best. He enters Week 12 with 164 yards on 45 carries and one touchdown on the ground. He also has 32 receptions for 237 yards and another touchdown in the receiving game.

The Washington Redskins and owners of tight end Jordan Reed should be pleased to hear that he was seen practicing on Wednesday. That’s great news because the injury-prone tight end allegedly suffered a sprained knee against the Panthers last week.

With the Redskins going up against the Giants, Reed should be considered a TE1 this week. I expect him to put up big numbers along with the rest of the Redskins receivers.
