Calvin Johnson Expected to Play, Kevin White Itching to Play and Ryan Tannehill Is Excited

Good news for fantasy football players who own Detroit Lions wide receiver Calvin Johnson. Megatron is fully expected to play on Thursday night against the Green Bay Packers, according to NFL Network’s Albert Breer.

I expect Johnson to have a huge day tonight against the Packers. He was also questionable for the team’s Thanksgiving game against the Philadelphia Eagles and ended the contest with three touchdowns. Needless to say, I don’t think his sore ankle is very serious at all.

Johnson should be considered a WR1 against the Packers. I also like teammate Golden Tate as a low-end WR2 and tight end Eric Ebron as a high end TE2 this week. As for quarterback Matthew Stafford, I’d feel comfortable starting him this week as well.

Thus far this season Johnson has 921 yards on 67 receptions. He also has six touchdowns.

In other wide receiver news, Chicago Bears rookie Kevin White says he is “itching to play” after being on the PUP all season thus far. Although it doesn’t sound like White will see the field this year, he is practicing in hopes of getting jump start next season.

"If I wasn't itching to play, I wouldn't be out there," White said, according to ESPN. "If it wasn't important I would be in the training room, I would just tell Ryan Pace or John Fox to put me in injured reserve. But I want to play."

If the Bears do want White to play this season, they have until December 15th to activate him.

Right now the Chicago Bears rely heavily on Alshon Jeffery in the passing game. Although he has played great with 43 catches for 6-5 yards and two touchdowns. But just imagine how great he would be if he wasn’t getting double covered on nearly every single play.

Dynasty owners should be looking forward to big things from White next season.

In other news, Miami Dolphins quarterback Ryan Tannehilll is excited that he’ll be more involved in the team’s game-planning going forward under new offensive coordinator Zac Taylor.

"Working with the coaches Monday and [Tuesday], just being a part of the game-plan process and having my thoughts heard and kind of putting our heads together to create some of the things we want to do, it's been fun so far," Tannehill said, according to ESPN.

Tannehill is likely safe as the Dolphins starting quarterback for the rest of this season and the beginning of 2016, but if he doesn’t improve significantly between now and then, he could find himself on the hot seat.

I would consider Tannehill a low-end QB1 against the Baltimore Ravens in Week 13.
