Week 16 WR Booms: Jarvis Landry, Mike Evans, Golden Tate

Like most of Miami’s offense this year, Jarvis Landry has been difficult to gauge when it comes to fantasy production. Landry has only amassed double-digit fantasy points once in his last five games, but it was a monster 23-point performance against the New York Jets in Week 12.

Even though he isn’t putting up the sort of numbers his owners were hoping for, Landry is still Miami’s best wide receiver, and Ryan Tannehill continues to throw him the football. Landry has 19 catches in his last two games, and he should continue to get more looks against the Indianapolis Colts on Sunday.

The Dolphins have no clue how to run their offense, whether it’s through the running game or the passing game, but Landry still remains their most consistent target and should fare well against the NFL’s 29th-ranked passing defense.

Mike Evans finished had one of his finest performances of the season in Week 15 by finishing with 15.7 fantasy points without even scoring a touchdown. Helped by the absence of Vincent Jackson, Evans saw 17 targets from Jameis Winston for a season-high nine catches against the St. Louis Rams.

The Bucs will host the Chicago Bears this Sunday for their home finale, so I’m looking for their offense to go out with a bang. The Bears are only allowing 216 yards per game through the air, but they don’t have anything left to play for. Jackson isn’t expected to suit up against the Bears, which means that Evans will continue to see more targets. Also, two of Evans’ last three home games resulted in double-digit fantasy performances.

A banged up Calvin Johnson means more targets for Golden Tate, and he’s made the most of his opportunities over the last two weeks. Tate has scored four touchdowns and has totaled 36 fantasy points in that span, and he should still be a great threat for the Lions as they host the 49ers in their home finale.

Tate is averaging nearly eight catches over his last five games, and even though he isn’t finding the end zone every game, he’s still had no problem racking up the catches.
