ANALYSIS: The Royals’ quest for a repeat and a third straight AL pennant is all but dead in the water, but it’s not because of Cheslor Cuthbert. He’s filled in quite well for the injured Mike Moustakas at the hot corner, hitting .298/.334/.454 with 10 homers. Since moving up to the two-hole last month, Cuthbert’s been even better: .310/.364/.450 with improved walk and strikeout rates. The 23-year-old doesn’t run, but he’s an excellent choice for fantasy owners in need of a batting average boost.
