NHL Daily League Lineup Picks for Saturday, February 4
For those that are new to this, each day we'll be providing you with a few of our top DFS lineup picks for daily league cash games on FanDuel and DraftKings. We will also provide you with one of our favorite teams to stack for GPPs. You can grab the rest of our Premium DFS lineup picks and stacks through the NHL Cheat Sheet and DFS Premium Pass below.
Mark Scheifele (C, WPG)
DraftKings - $6,500, FanDuel - $7,900
This game alone might make you want to play the early slate as it could be the highest scoring game of the entire day. The Jets have scored four or more goals in a game in five of their last seven games and now get the Avs and their 30th ranked defense. Scheifele specifically has been red hot lately with four goals in his last three games and 14 points over his last 10 games. He is safe in all formats.
James van Riemsdyk (W, TOR)
DraftKings - $6,500, FanDuel - $7,600
The Leafs currently sit sixth in overall in offense in large part to the comeback season of Van Riemsdyk who sat out nearly half of last season. He is averaging just under a point per game this season with 41 and provides a safe floor averaging just under three shots on goal per game. He has also enjoyed success against the Bruins this season wth a goal in each of the two previous games.
Hampus Lindholm (D, ANH)
DraftKings - $3,400, FanDuel - $4,400
Outside of Sami Vatanen and Cam Fowler, the Ducks don't get much offense from their back end but that doesn't mean there isn't fantasy value. Lindholm may only have eight points all season but three have come in his last 10 games and for bargain prices, he has a nice balance of shots and blocks. It's more about what he opens up with the remaining salary for the rest of your lineup.
Stacking Option
Minnesota Wild- Jason Zucker, Mikael Granlund, Mikko Koivu
What isn't there to like about the Minnesota Wild this season? They rank fourth overall in offense and get a premiere matchup against the struggling Canucks who have lost three of their last four games giving up 13 total goals. The Wild's second line is an excellent target that is never too chalky and has been extremely productive over the last couple weeks. Granlund has been the hottest as he enters Saturday with an 11 game point streak while Zucker has 10 points in his last 10 games and Koivu has seven. They are still cheap enough on DraftKings and can even be stacked in cash games.

Bonus: General NHL DFS Strategy Notes
For cash games, look at players who can contribute to your score even when they are not providing offense. Some examples are guys who take a ton of shots and defensemen who block a lot of shots. Also, look for guys who get power play time. You can find value in players who join a new line due to an injury, or just get a promotion and more ice time. It is also recommended to spread out your exposure to three or four different lines, and not put all your eggs in one basket.
For large field tournaments (GPPs), find payers who have multi-point upside and can grab double-digit fantasy points. If you want to stack the most upside in your forwards, a common strategy is to punt the defense position. This doesn't mean just grab anyone - try and look for a defenseman who will get power play time, or a playing time boost due to an injury. For a contrarian approach, paying up at the defense position can be a great strategy - but it also comes with more risk. GPPs bring a great opportunity for goaltenders in the value price range - you can look for backups on good teams.
