NHL Daily League Lineup Picks for Tuesday, February 7
For those that are new to this, each day we'll be providing you with a few of our top DFS lineup picks for daily league cash games on FanDuel and DraftKings. We will also provide you with one of our favorite teams to stack for GPPs. You can grab the rest of our Premium DFS lineup picks and stacks through the NHL Cheat Sheet and DFS Premium Pass below.
Nazem Kadri (C, TOR)
DraftKings - $6,000, FanDuel - $6,800
This game has a great chance to be the highest scoring of the night making it a great target for DFS. Both teams have bottom 10 defenses this year and the Leafs have the big advantage offensively as they rank sixth overall. Kadri centers the second line, plays heavy powerplay minutes and has been red hot lately with 11 points in his last 10 games. He is safe in all formats.
Jamie Benn (W, DAL)
DraftKings - $7,200, FanDuel - $8,300
Staying in the same game we have another elite play on Tuesday night. Benn has been one of the hottest players in the league lately, recording six goals and 12 points over the last 10 games. He has also seen a huge uptick in shot volume with 39 shots in those 10 games after averaging just over 2.5 per game over the first half of the season.
Trevor Daley (D, PIT)
DraftKings - $3,700, FanDuel - $4,500
Value play of the night on defense and maybe overall. He won't break the bank and checks off all the boxes. He provides a nice balance of blocks and shots giving him a high floor for cash games and he has shown his upside lately with six points in his last 10 games while skating nearly two minutes per game on the second powerplay unit.
Stacking Option
Pittsburgh Penguins - Sidney Crosby, Phil Kessel, Patric Hornqvist
Then Penguins second-ranked powerplay is a great target for fantasy points tonight. They get a home matchup vs. the struggling Flames who have lost six of their at 10 games and rank 18th in offense and 25th in penalty kill. With Malkin out of the lineup again, the Pens powerplay is the best source for fantasy points as they have scored with the man advantage in nine of their last 12 games.

Bonus: General NHL DFS Strategy Notes
For cash games, look at players who can contribute to your score even when they are not providing offense. Some examples are guys who take a ton of shots and defensemen who block a lot of shots. Also, look for guys who get power play time. You can find value in players who join a new line due to an injury, or just get a promotion and more ice time. It is also recommended to spread out your exposure to three or four different lines, and not put all your eggs in one basket.
For large field tournaments (GPPs), find payers who have multi-point upside and can grab double-digit fantasy points. If you want to stack the most upside in your forwards, a common strategy is to punt the defense position. This doesn't mean just grab anyone - try and look for a defenseman who will get power play time, or a playing time boost due to an injury. For a contrarian approach, paying up at the defense position can be a great strategy - but it also comes with more risk. GPPs bring a great opportunity for goaltenders in the value price range - you can look for backups on good teams.
