NHL Daily League Lineup Picks for Thursday, March 2
For those that are new to this, each day we'll be providing you with a few of our top DFS lineup picks for daily league cash games on FanDuel and DraftKings. We will also provide you with one of our favorite teams to stack for GPPs. You can grab the rest of our Premium DFS lineup picks and stacks through the NHL Cheat Sheet and DFS Premium Pass below.
Brayden Schenn (C, PHI)
DraftKings - $5,700, FanDuel - $5,500
The price of the Flyers players has dropped slightly and it comes down to their under-performing offense that has dropped to 21st overall. One player that has been consistent lately is Schenn who has recorded a point in four straight games with 10 shots on goal. Three of those four points also came on the powerplay where he skates with Giroux and Simmonds on the top unit. With a price tag under $6K on both sites, Schenn is safe in all formats.
Radim Vrbata (W, ARI)
DraftKings - $5,500, FanDuel - $6,000
We can't talk about players carrying their offenses without mentioning Mr. Vrbata. He is one of the hottest players in the league at the moment with points in 10 straight games(12 total) which has brought his season total up to 47 points, 14 more than anyone else on the Coyotes. If not for his big contract, he would have most likely been moved yesterday to a contender. Not a big deal for us in DFS as he makes a great play in all formats.
P.K. Subban (D, NSH)
DraftKings - $5,300, FanDuel - $5,800
It's a big night for the Subban and the Predators. The team is coming in hot, winning four straight and six of their last eight games and Subban returns to Montreal for the first time since being traded to the Preds. It's perfect timing for Subban who has been red hot with 12 points in his last 10 games with including five points on the powerplay. He comes at a big discount from Roman Josi and is a great play in all formats.
Stacking Option
San Jose Sharks PP - Joe Thornton, Joe Pavelski, Brent Burns, Patrick Marleau
With so many elite matchups and stacking options tonight, the Sharks could be overlooked in the late night game. They get a great matchup at home vs. the Canucks who own one of the worst road records in the league(8-19-3). Target the Sharks special teams as the Canucks have allowed a powerplay goal in three of their last four games and rank 25th overall this season.

Bonus: General NHL DFS Strategy Notes
For cash games, look at players who can contribute to your score even when they are not providing offense. Some examples are guys who take a ton of shots and defensemen who block a lot of shots. Also, look for guys who get power play time. You can find value in players who join a new line due to an injury, or just get a promotion and more ice time. It is also recommended to spread out your exposure to three or four different lines, and not put all your eggs in one basket.
For large field tournaments (GPPs), find payers who have multi-point upside and can grab double-digit fantasy points. If you want to stack the most upside in your forwards, a common strategy is to punt the defense position. This doesn't mean just grab anyone - try and look for a defenseman who will get power play time, or a playing time boost due to an injury. For a contrarian approach, paying up at the defense position can be a great strategy - but it also comes with more risk. GPPs bring a great opportunity for goaltenders in the value price range - you can look for backups on good teams.
