We have an 11 game main slate to get us through the middle of the week, and there are plenty of good options. Pitching isn't super strong, as there are no players over $10K, but some have plenty of upside from strikeouts. Also, plenty of viable stacking options, so might want to take a shot in some GPPs. So sit back, read up, and let's win some contests.
In this article, I will be providing you with my daily fantasy baseball lineup picks for FanDuel on 5/17/17. They'll range from value plays, to elite and everything in between.

Offensive Stacks
Detroit Tigers vs Ubaldo Jimenez
Jimenez isn't a good pitcher anymore. He had a few good years, and since then, he is a shell of his former self. He has seven starts this year, and has pitcher 4.1 innings or fewer in five of those starts. He is getting shelled early and often, and always someone you want to target when he is on the slate. The Tigers have some big bats in their lineup, and can go off at any time, look to stay in the top half of the lineup, since they are at home.
Chicago Cubs vs Scott Feldman
Right now it shows that there will be 20 MHP winds blowing out toward center at Wrigley tomorrow night. That is something you absolutely need to check on, and this is the time to roster some Cubs bats. Huge home run potential from this team already, and the plus factor of the wind should be a big boost. Look for some of the power lefty hitters for the Cubs to take Feldman deep.
FanDuel DFS Pitchers
Michael Pineda - P, @ KAN ($8,600)
Pineda is power throwing pitcher, and has big upside when it comes to strikeouts. He has had six or more strikeouts in all seven of his starts this year for a total of 50 SO in 41 IP. Really strong numbers from a player who is trying to establish them self as a legit top two starter. Pineda is at Kansas City, which is a middle of the road park for pitchers, and the Royals have a 21% strikeout rate versus right-handed pitching. He is a great cash game option, and has given up three or fewer earned runs in six of seven starts this season.
Matt Garza - P, @ SDP ($8,300)
Garza is a true GPP option. Over his career he doesn't have the best numbers, but this season in only four starts, he has done some decent work. Four or more strikeouts in all four of his starts, and only seven earned runs allowed in all starts combined. He is at San Diego, which is a great pitchers park, and the Padres have a 25% strikeout rate versus right-handed pitching, which is second worst in the league. He should be much lower owned and with the strikeout upside, he makes a great GPP play.
FanDuel DFS Infielders
Gary Sanchez - C, @ KAN ($3,400)
Sanchez missed a bit of time in the first month of the season, so he has smaller sample sizes to work from, but he has the upside you want. So far this season, he has a .284 wOBA versus left-handed pitching, which isn't going to blow you away, but he has hits in seven of his last eight games, and is back on track after the injury. Good in a stack or as a one off in GPPs.
Freddie Freeman - 1B, @ TOR ($4,600)
Any time Freeman is facing a right-handed pitcher, you almost need to have some exposure to him in your lineups. He is mashing the ball this year vs righties, and is in another good spot tonight. He has a .489 wOBA and a .410 ISO vs RHP so far this season, and in Toronto which plays as a hitters park, he is a lock and load for me tonight.
Daneil Murphy - 2B, @ PIT ($3,800)
Murphy had the night off on Tuesday, so he is almost certain to play tonight, and he has a great match up in front of him. Murphy has a .392 wOBA and a .215 ISO versus right-handed pitching. Even though this isn't the best park for hitters, Murphy is a viable option for either cash games or in a stack for GPPs.
Miguel Sano - 3B, vs COL ($3,900)
Sano is having a very nice start to the season, and he is crushing the ball versus right-handed pitching. He has a .446 wOBA and a .367 ISO vs righties, and finds himself in that match up tonight. He is on the higher end of prices, but 30 RBI in 33 Games is pretty consistent, and a great option for cash games.
Jean Segura - SS, vs OAK ($3,900)
The Mariners have some sneaky upside most nights, and often go under owned in tournaments. Not sure if its the west coast bias, but they have plenty of upside. Segura has a .405 wOBA and a .165 ISO versus right-handed pitching this year. Really like him in this spot tonight, and is a great option for a stack.
FanDuel DFS Outfielders
Ben Gamel - OF, vs OAK ($3,300)
Gamel has some nice stats in the games he has played. 21 Hits in 18 Games, while batting over .300. He offers some salary savings, to go along with a .420 wOBA and a .196 ISO versus right-handed pitching. Viable in a stack, or as a one off in GPPs.
Nick Markakis - OF, @ TOR ($3,400)
Markakis may have his best years behind him, but he is in middle of decently powerful offense, and he sees the benefits of. He is batting over .300 with a .347 wOBA versus right-handed pitching. Solid numbers from the 10 year veteran, and good for any type of contest.
Mike Trout - OF, vs CWS ($4,900)
Trout is simply crushing the ball right now. He has home runs, in four of his last five games, and this is the time when you should just play him and not look back. He isn't going to knock one out every game, but it'd be silly to not play him. He has a .503 wOBA and a .444 ISO vs right-handed pitching, just insane numbers, and should be an auto lock.
