Welcome back to the Outfield Waiver Wire, where we look at the best outfielders available in at least 50 percent of Yahoo leagues. Consider this column your recommendations for Week 12 outfield waiver wire pickups.

We're nearing the halfway point of the season, but there are still plenty of guys who can help you floating around on the waiver wire. Not every move can be a blockbuster. Value is value, wherever you can find it. This column is designed to help you do just that.

Let's get down to business.

Week 12 Outfield (OF) Waiver Wire Targets

David Peralta, OF, Arizona Diamondbacks (48% owned)

Despite a power outage during the month of May, Peralta is hitting a healthy .318/.364/.477 this season, with six home runs, five stolen bases, and 41 runs scored. That pop and speed is admittedly modest, but Peralta is top 15 among all hitters in batting average and top 30 in runs. Even with offense continuing to trend upward, there aren’t a ton of .300 hitters in the game right now. Virtually none of the others are available in the majority of fantasy leagues.

Cameron Maybin, OF, Los Angeles Angels (47%)

It’s rare that the same player is featured in this column in consecutive weeks, but Maybin has earned it. Do y’all realize he’s one of only four players in baseball with at least 20 steals? Or that he’s gone hitless just three times since May 21? How about that during that same span, he’s hitting .348/.423/.594 with three homers, 20 runs scored, and 12 steals in 12 attempts? Maybin is locked in as the Angels’ leadoff man, hitting everything in sight, and running wild. While his ownership rate has spiked since last week, he’s still being overlooked in too many leagues.

Matt Adams, 1B/OF, Atlanta Braves (36%)

Like seemingly every other previously mediocre first baseman near the age of 30 (deep breath – Justin Smoak, Justin Bour, Yonder Alonso, Logan Morrison, Ryan Zimmerman, Mitch Moreland, Mark Reynolds), Adams is having a surprisingly good year. Since being traded to the Braves four weeks ago, he’s slashed .308/.350/.654 with nine homers and 44 R+RBI in 27 games. Adams will be the man at first base and in the middle of the Atlanta lineup while Freddie Freeman is on the shelf.

Steven Souza Jr., OF, Tampa Bay Rays (36%)

After going 2-for-4 with a grand slam on Sunday, Souza’s season line stands at .265/.376/.492. All three marks would easily be career bests. Souza is also on pace to shatter his previous career high of 17 homers, since the aforementioned salami was his 13^th of the season. The 28-year-old missed significant chunks of each of his first two MLB seasons. Assuming he can stay on the field this time around, he’s on his way to a sneaky-good fantasy season.

Shin-Soo Choo, OF, Texas Rangers (17%)

Speaking of guys who have had trouble staying healthy, here’s Choo with a quietly solid season. Though he’s hitting only .261, Choo has been an asset in all other standard cats. He’s currently on pace for a 25/15 season, with outside shots at 100 runs and 90 RBI. While it’s unlikely he’ll play enough to reach those numbers – if he avoids the DL, it’ll probably be because the Rangers rested him often – that pace speaks to the life remaining in Choo’s bat. Six of his 10 homers have come in the last three weeks.
