Daily Fantasy Hockey Lineup Picks (10/26/17): NHL DFS Advice for FanDuel, DraftKings

We have an 11 game slate tonight, with plenty of options all across the board. There are three games, as of now, that have goal totals of six or more, which is high for the NHL. Look at those spots for some offense, and go with the reliable plays for goalies.

Vegas lines are big when it comes to picking games to target, and that's a good place to start for goalies. When it comes to skaters, goal totals is another main place to start. Usually 5.5 goals is average, so targets games at six, and can look for goalies in games with a total at five.

In this article, I will be providing you with my daily fantasy hockey lineup picks for DraftKings and FanDuel on 10/26/17. The lineup picks will range from some of the elite players to mid-priced options and value plays. If you have any questions or comments, feel free to hit me up on Twitter @DFS_Tom. Let's get to it, shall we?

DFS Forwards to Consider

Mika Zibanejad - C, NYR vs ARI (DK - $7,200, FD - $6,700)

The Rangers are at home and they are in need of a win, as they have struggled to start the season. They are up against Arizona, who have allowed 39 goals in nine games this season, which is second worst in the league. Zibanejad plays on the first forward line and first power-play unit for the Rangers, so he will be seeing plenty of ice time. He has seven points in 10 games this season, and is averaging almost four shots per game. Big potential for points here tonight.

Claude Giroux - W, PHI @ OTT (DK - $6,400, FD - $7,400)

Giroux is off to a very strong start this season, with 11 points in nine games. The Flyers are off to a strong start and scoring goals at a solid rate. Giroux is on the first forward line and the first power-play unit, and averaging over two shots per game. On a large slate you shouldn't be worried about ownership, but Giroux is best used in a stack. His role in the offense has changed over the past season or so for Philly, and his points will be maximized in a stack, not solo.

David Pastrnak - W, BOS vs SJ (DK - $7,100, FD - $7,600)

Pastranka aka Pasta, has five goals in his last four games, and is always a top option in DFS. He is averaging over three shots per game, and is seeing time on the second forward line and the first power-play unit. He is the type of player you can play solo, since he can create his own offense, and he is a pure goal scorer. Like him in any format tonight, and don't pass him up if you have the salary to spend.

DFS Defenders to Consider

John Carlson - D, WAS @ VAN (DK - $5,500, FD - $5,100)

Carlson sees time on the first defensive pairing and the first power-play unit. He is averaging nearly four shots per game, and also has 14 blocked shots in only nine games. He isn't really a goal scorer, but with the amount of ice time he sees with those powerful offensive players, he can fall into some points. Have to use him in a stack to get the most out of him, and can be used in either format.

Johnny Boychuk - D, NYI @ MIN (DK - $3,900, FD - $4,200)

Boychuk overs a bit of salary relief and if you put him in the right stack, he stands to get some points. He plays on the top defensive pair, and the top power play unit for the Islanders, and comes into this game with no points this season. Yes, a big ole zero in the points column, but with that, he is due for some positive regression. The amount of ice time he sees, plus the amount of shots he takes, 24 in nine games, he is going to fall into some points soon. Play him in a stack, and best in a GPP.

DFS Goalies to Consider

Frederik Andersen - G, TOR vs CAR (DK - $7,800, FD - $8,500)

Andersen is at home and a -160 favorite according to Vegas, which means he should be able to pick up the win. With the Maple Leafs offense being so powerful, they are able to out score almost anyone, and get their goalie the win. He has six wins in his eight starts this season, and is seeing over 32 shots per game. This mean he has plenty of time to rack up the points, and can balance out the points, even if he lets in one goal.
