Alvin Kamara Must Raise Efficiency in Difficult Matchup with Vikings
7 years agoNew Orleans Saints running back Alvin Kamara has been the most efficient running back in the league, even as a rookie. Kamara finished the 2017 season with a league-leading 6.1 yards-per-carry rushing average and 10.2 yards per reception. He scored 13 total touchdowns on just over 200 touches. It will be tough to match those averages against the league's top rush defense and most efficient third-down defense in Minnesota. Kamara only carried the ball seven times and caught four passes in Week 1, back when the shadow of Adrian Peterson still loomed on the New Orleans sideline (this was the infamous glare game). Kamara has become an integral part of the offense, but expectations should be tempered for this playoff matchup.
