7 years agoArizona Diamondbacks starting pitcher Zack Greinke has gone 445 1/3 innings over 70 regular season starts since the last time he hit a batter. The last time he plunked a hitter was Mets outfielder Michael Conforto on July 26 of 2015. It's the longest active streak for a pitcher in the big leagues. The all-time record is held by Larry Benton, who went 1,072 1/3 innings without hitting a batter. Greinke had a rough first year in Arizona (4.36 ERA), but he bounced back nicely with a 3.20 ERA, 1.07 WHIP, 9.6 K/9 and a career-best 12.4 percent swinging-strike rate. Even at 34 years of age, Greinke remains a fantasy ace with excellent control, but a regression could be coming soon.--Keith Hernandez - RotoBaller
