Jordan Zimmermann Receives Injection In Back
7 years agoDetroit Tigers starting pitcher Jordan Zimmermann (back, neck) recently visited with Dr. Andrew Dossett and received an injection in his back instead of his neck. As a result, he will resume his throwing program Tuesday. Zimmermann is dealing with a couple of bulging discs in his back, but he said he feels "100 times better" after waiting four days to throw. He plans to long toss up to 120 feet Tuesday and then throw a bullpen session Wednesday when pitchers and catchers report to camp. Even though it looks like the veteran pitcher will be ready for the start of the season, he remains an injury risk and posted an awful 6.07 ERA and 1.55 WHIP in 29 starts (160 innings) for the Tigers in 2017, and he should be avoided in fantasy leagues.
