Scooter Gennett Wins Arbitration Case
7 years agoCincinnati Reds second baseman Scooter Gennett won his salary arbitration case and will earn $5.7 million in 2018 instead of the $5.1 million the Reds proposed. Gennett was one of the biggest surprises in all of baseball in 2017, going from being a pinch hitter to one of the most productive second basemen in the league in one season. He hit .295 with 27 home runs and 97 RBI in 141 games, but he still struggles against lefties, and playing time may be a concern with prospect Nick Senzel potentially moving to the middle infield. Gennett could be plenty productive again in 2018, but expect some regression.
