7 years agoColorado Rockies first baseman/outfielder Ian Desmond said he's expected to mostly play left field this year. "I will be ready to play first base if they need me to, but right now, from what I understand it’s going to be mostly left field," Desmond said. Pegged as a breakout candidate with the move to Coors Field in 2017, Desmond disappointed fantasy owners by landing on the disabled list to begin the year and hitting .274 with only seven homers and 40 RBI in 95 games. Desmond simply didn't hit enough fly balls to capitalize on the thin air in Colorado, although he now has dual eligibility. The 15 stolen bases helped buoy his value. With better health and everyday playing time, Desmond could easily bounce back and be a value pick in fantasy drafts.--Keith Hernandez - RotoBaller
