7 years agoPitcher Sandy Alcantara impressed for the Miami Marlins on Thursday by allowing four hits and only one earned run in three innings against the New York Mets. Alcantara, who came to Miami from St. Louis in the Marcell Ozuna trade, has looked solid this Spring. In five innings of work, the young fireballer has a 1.80 ERA to go along with a 0.80 WHIP and three strikeouts. While beginning the year as a starter is hardly guaranteed, Alcantara is making the most of the opportunity thus far.--Steven Slivka
